Hail, a comeback, and picture day
Leo scores twice in U10 Boys comeback win
The U10 Boys faced Maple Ridge SC and won 3-2. After a challenging first half, down 2-0 with both goals coming from corners, Coach Dave moved Owen back to center back, where he shut down any further chances from the opponents.
Leo netted two goals in the second half, including the winner off a rebound with about four minutes left. Sam set up that crucial goal. The game even paused for about five minutes as hail fell in the second half, with both teams waiting it out under the pavilion before returning to play their best soccer of the day.
Carter scores twice in the spring opener
The U13 Boys opened the spring 2-2 with Lakeview United. Carter scored in each half; Lakeview tied it with about ten minutes left on a shot in off the crossbar.
Eli played the whole game at center back and Ben started in goal.
Kickoff was twenty minutes late. The nets were locked in the shed and nobody had the key, so the ref let both teams warm up together until it turned up.

U10 Boys head coach, ninth season
Q: How long have you been coaching at Shoreline? A: This is my ninth spring. I started when my oldest was in U8 and never left. He is in college now. Q: What do you want the boys to get out of this season? A: To pass before they are asked to. If they are doing that by June, I do not care what the scores were. Q: Biggest change in nine years? A: The parents are quieter. I mean that as a compliment. Q: What will the boys remember from Saturday? A: The hail. Nobody will remember the score, including me.

Spring picture day is Saturday, April 25
Team and individual photos run from 8:30 to noon at the pavilion, before each team’s game. Order forms went home at practice. Wear full uniform, shin guards optional.
