Opening day win for the U13s
Carter scores two in U13 Boys' season opener
The U13 Boys earn a 3-1 victory over Brookside Rovers. Eli and Carter each scored in the first ten minutes. Brookside pulled one back before halftime, but Carter added a second late in the game.
Carter recorded two goals and an assist. Eli had a goal and an assist. Mateo excelled by "winning everything in the middle." Several players remarked that the goal seemed twice as big on the full-size field.
Priya opens the fall with a clean sheet win
The U12 Girls started the fall 2-0 over Westmoor FC. Priya scored early, low across the keeper, and Maya added the second in the second half. Ella kept the clean sheet.
It was the first game in the new long-sleeve kits, and 84 degrees. Most of the sleeves were rolled up before kickoff.
U10 Boys lose the opener on the hill at Cedar Falls
Cedar Falls FC won 2-1. Leo scored in the first half; Cedar Falls scored twice after the break, the second a long shot that bounced over Jonah.
The Cedar Falls field runs downhill toward one goal. The boys spent the whole first half arguing about which end was uphill, while playing on it.
